Really quick and clean installation. Delighted!! I also benefitted from a 10 year interest free loan from Scottish Government / Home Energy Scotland. Makes it so much more affordable ....

We had RKM in to replace a 4 large windows in our flat , an old building ,we opted for traditional wood and sash double glazing with brass coloured fittings( there were choices), they turned out beautifully, and honestly even better than we hoped. We can feel the difference in warmth in the flat already! The service was excellent, and the team that came to fit the windows were ,efficient, fast,and a nice bunch of lads. We can recommend this company.

For years I assumed we wouldn't be able to afford to replace our rattly old original sash and case windows. One day, after the morning ritual of chipping ice off the inside of the window pane, I phoned RKM on a whim and said I was interested in a ballpark figure but didn't want any hard sell hassle or persistent follow up. So that is exactly what we got: a ballpark figure per window, and for the whole job (20 windows), answers to all our questions, an invitation to visit the factory whenever we wanted, and no pushy sales whatsoever.
We visited the factory, and were impressed by the no-nonsense approach and technical expertise. I used to be an EcoHomes assessor and have worked in sustainable construction for decades, so had quite a few very specific questions. Every one was answered immediately and to my satisfaction.
We decided to go ahead with a survey to get a formal quote. This too was quick, efficient and professional. All our questions about design details were answered, nothing was too much trouble and anything we wanted we got. We also got a lot of experienced advice, but no pressure to do anything. The quote came in slightly below the ballpark estimate, and we were so impressed with what we had seen that, despite our fears over undertaking such a huge piece of work, we decided to go ahead.
When the team arrived to do the job (which they were able to do a couple of months earlier than originally planned), they were courteous and efficient. Everything was covered in dust sheets, everything that came out was removed from site the same day, and the new windows went in perfectly. All 20 windows were replaced in three days. I work from home and, aside from making a bit more coffee than usual, I was not disturbed at all.
The new window are fantastic. Aesthetically, you can't tell they have been replaced: they look exactly like the originals. But the improvement in draft proofing, thermal and acoustic insulation is astonishing. The house is on an exposed hillside, and we are used to constant strong wind, but now it stays outside. It has come as a nice surprise that we now have to look out the window to be able to tell what the weather is like. I am now looking forward to the winter, when I expect to feel even more smug.
I knew our windows needed replacing, but was worried about the cost, damage and disruption. I needn't have been: their workmanship is top notch, prices very reasonable and we hardly knew they were here. 100% recommend RKM.
